Today during our group meeting we discussed some of the literature we’ve been reading. Although I have somewhat refined my thesis to deal less with persuasion and more with presenting information, my readings during the past few weeks have been heavily focused on persuasion side. To balance things out, I took home a new book: Emotional Design: Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Things by Donald Norman. I first heard about this book over the summer and am very excited to read it.
I’m also planning to dig into The Visual Display of Quantitative Information by Tufte soon, as well as Social Cognition by Augoustinos, Walker, and Donaghue. All of these texts should, I believe, greatly help me round out my readings.
SO much to read, so little time!
